Disposal stations for motorhomes in Germany and Europe

Posted by Rebecca Andresen on

We've all been there - suddenly it all happened very quickly: the grey water tank or the toilet cassette of the motorhome is full. But what's the easiest way to find disposal stations for motorhomes in Germany and Europe ?

We have put together some helpful tips to help you get things done faster next time.

First of all, for new campers: A disposal station for motorhomes is a place where you can dispose of waste water and fill up with fresh water if necessary. You can also empty and clean the toilet cassette.

But how and where do you find these disposal stations for motorhomes?

Camping and pitches:

Disposal stations for motorhomes on campsites

A good way to empty the grey water and toilet tanks of a motorhome is at campsites. Here you can simply use the search function of the navigation system and enter “campsite”.

For all those who have already spent their camping holiday at a campsite, there is of course no need to look for a disposal station for their camper at such times.

But sometimes you have to act quickly because maybe the next ferry is waiting or there was a really long queue at the disposal station.

Most campsites offer facilities for emptying grey water and toilet tanks for campers. And if you ask nicely and have a contribution to the coffee fund ready, this is usually possible even if you are not a guest.

Similar to campsites, disposal stations are also located at many RV parks.

These parking spaces for motorhomes and campers are often located very centrally in cities. Parking spaces for motorhomes can be easily found on relevant websites such as park4night or other parking space guides.

However, you have to pay attention to whether the app also contains the sign for disposal stations for motorhomes. Not all parking spaces offer this and sometimes they are just pure parking spaces with the option of staying there overnight in the evening.

List/PDFs for disposal stations for motorhomes

There are various lists online that list many disposal stations for campers in Germany and Europe.

We simply saved such a list so that we can always search for the corresponding zip code to find a disposal station when necessary.

Here are a few examples:

Petrol stations or sewage treatment plants

Some petrol stations and sewage treatment plants also offer disposal stations for motorhomes.

Here you can either simply ask at the relevant places yourself or pay attention to the signs at the petrol stations and sewage treatment plants.

Cleaning the toilet cassette in the camper

How do you use the motorhome disposal stations correctly?

Basically, a distinction is made between grey water, black water and fresh water.

Grey water

Grey water is the dirty water from the shower or sink, which can usually be drained under the vehicle. For example, the motorhome is parked above the grey water drain so that the dirty water from the motorhome can simply flow into the drain.

Blackwater

The black water is the waste from the toilet cassette. This is poured into a drain at the disposal station. There is usually also a separate tap for cleaning the cassette in your motorhome.

Fresh water

Whether the disposal stations also include a supply station for fresh water depends on the respective facility.

In contrast to emptying, fresh water at the disposal stations for mobile homes usually costs money. Coins can be put into the machines depending on the volume of water.

Of course, normal water from the tap is also suitable. If you are visiting friends or family, you can simply fill the water tank with it.

Simpler disposal stations only have a floor inlet for emptying grey and black water.

Cleaning tip!

How do you clean your toilet cassettes?
The 100% plant-based ingredients create a fresh scent combination of eucalyptus and mint oil that is also gentle on the environment.
The contents of the portable toilet can be easily disposed of in a septic tank. This unique sanitary liquid neutralizes unwanted odors and your toilet retains a fresh smell after cleaning.

By the way...

Do you know that feeling when you've been traveling in your camper for a few days and suddenly an incredibly unpleasant smell comes up during the trip?
This is usually due to your grey water! When you are driving, the grey water gets moving and the smells come up the drains. Be it from the camping kitchen or the camping shower. Of course, you can put something on top of it so that the smell doesn't come out. But it's still not particularly pleasant.

We not only use Solbio for the toilet cassette, but also add a large amount to the grey water tank.
