Our next camping tip is in Austria: The Nord Sam campsite is ideal for a city trip in Salzburg, Austria. It is located just outside the city center. For the cyclists among us, the route goes along a stream and river from the campsite directly into the center (approx. 5km).
However, we took the bus into town because the bus stop is only 100m from the campsite entrance.
We really liked the Nord Sam pitch because it offered a lot of privacy thanks to its parcelled hedges.
At the entrance to the campsite there is also a small pool, which is ideal for hot summer days.
We were there in June 2021 and to our surprise, not even half of the pitches were occupied. This could have been due to the pandemic situation, as the constant lockdowns were also a factor of uncertainty. But because we can set off from Munich very flexibly, we simply chose the right time window.
Sanitary facilities on the campsite Tip: Nord Sam
However, the sanitary facilities at the Nord Sam campsite were a bit old (as of June 2021). Fortunately, we are self-sufficient with our motorhome and therefore always have our own bathroom and shower with us and are not dependent on the sanitary facilities.
There is a small playground and kiosk at the campsite entrance.
Conclusion on the campsite tip: Nord Sam in Salzburg
We really enjoyed the privacy at the Nord Sam campsite. Of course, this was also due to the very limited number of visitors. However, even when the campsite is more busy, the pitches on the campsite are well separated from each other by hedged plots.
The proximity to the city makes the campsite a great camping tip for all those who have not yet been to Salzburg.
